ANNA MARIA II
The Anna Maria II was built in 1933 en foxhol and started a long career of
transporting all kind of goods.
One day she even sailed from town to town with a fair-attraction.
After world war II she was extended with 5 meter and heightened with 30 cm.
Therefore the measurements are now 5.05 meter width and 31.59 meter long.
With this size she can sail on most of the European rivers and canals.
In 1978 she was last used for freight-transport. She had a contract for cement
from Maastricht to Raalte.
Due to the closure of this canal she was made reduntant.
In 1979 she was refurbished in West-Graftdijk in a series of 5 Anna Maria's you
can come across all over Europe.
The Anna Maria II has been furnished with a comfortable sitting room and a
galley, 8 two-persons cabins and 3 four-persons cabins, all with bunk-beds.
3 toilets and 3 shower-cabins are for general use. Further she has a spacious
deck from where you can see the landscape or where you can park your rental bikes.
In the beginning it was not sure if she accepted her new role, but now she is
already doing her job with pleasure for 25 years.
